My work is rooted in the principles of kintsugi, where the beauty of an object lies in its history, its fractures, and its rebirth. Poetonic, my artist name, evolved naturally from my love of writing small form poems. Over time, these poems transformed into my analog collages, guided by enigmatic impulses as if directed by an external puppeteer. Through this process, I blend chaos and consciousness to create pieces that defy conventional understanding.

By assembling torn pieces of the past—snippets of magazines, pages from abandoned books, shredded posters, discarded packaging, broken machinery parts, and more—I embrace the narrative of imperfection and transformation. Poetonic, which originated from the textures of Shanghai’s urban tapestry in 2019, seeks to fuse visual and emotional expressions. It explores how seemingly random and disordered elements can be woven together into unique and meaningful collages.

Each collage becomes a visual representation of resilience, celebrating the beauty of what was once broken. My art is not about perfection but about the life that emerges from fragments, a testament to the stories contained within every piece. As a prolific artist, I approach my work with a sense of humility, driven by a deep belief in giving abundantly—pouring my creativity, time, and energy into each creation.

I trust that the universe responds in kind, returning what you put out in unexpected yet always meaningful ways. This cycle of giving and receiving fuels my artistic journey, allowing me to create freely and generously.

Daddy’s Cigarettes is a deeply personal mixed media collage, crafted from discarded Chinese cigarette packaging collected during my travels to China in 2019. Mounted on an A2-sized wood backing, the piece reflects a country where cigarettes are a constant companion for many.

This collage marks one of my early explorations into mixed media, using found objects to evoke a sense of nostalgia and attachment. The A2 size allows the collage to be intimate yet commanding, inviting viewers to take in the details up close, while the vibrant reds and yellows, often associated with Chinese culture, guide the narrative in a way that’s both personal and universal.

Daddy’s Cigarettes captures how everyday ephemera—discarded but not forgotten—can be transformed into art, connecting us to fleeting moments and distant environments.

All of my artworks are meticulously documented through creation videos, allowing you to experience the process behind each piece. Whether it's mixed media collages or digital compositions, you can follow along and see how they come to life.
